Right at Home is seeking dependable, compassionate Community Support Specialist to provide companionship and homemaking services to a client in Brandon IA. Homemaker could include but not limited to light housekeeping, laundry assistance, transportation, meal preparation. Companionship would consist in engaging in activities in the home as well as activities in the Community. Experience with brain injury, spinal cord injury and or dementia would be beneficial but not required as we provide training and a mentoring program to help you be successful.

What you would do as a Community Support Specialist:
· Adheres to agency policies and procedures.
· Performs work under the supervision of the Staffing Coordinator/Operations Manager.
· Performs homemaking activities which may include but are not limited to vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, laundry, and cleaning bathrooms.
· Prepares meals and snacks for client according to client/family and supervisor’s instructions.
· May perform grocery shopping and/or take doctor’s appointments.
· Provides companionship for the client including accompanying client on walks, trips to social/recreational activities, accompany client in community settings and assist in social interactions, assistance with hobbies, etc. DO NOT SIT AROUND AND IGNORE CLIENT
· The homemaker is responsible for written documentation of the service provided.
Requirements of a Part time Community Support Specialist for Brandon:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must have your own vehicle with proof of adequate car insurance and the ability to travel within our service area, which is a 45-minute radius of Brandon.
- Be able to safely operate a vehicle in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Pass Background Check
- Ability to be reliable and dependable.
- Desire to care for adults, keeping them safe and independent in their homes
- Read, write, speak, and understand English with or without reasonable accommodations as needed for the job.
- Must have a current and valid driver’s license and be able to safely operate a vehicle in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations with or without reasonable accommodations.
